Friends of Cortes Island is delighted to be launching a new Room for Rider Mirror Tag to assist local ride sharing across Quadra.

If you are in the ferry line-up and have room and willingness to share your ride, you can hang the Room for Rider Mirror Tag from your rear-view mirror.

And, if you are looking for a ride, then begin by asking folks who are proudly displaying their Room for Rider Mirror Tags!

They are a great way to spot Cortes-bound cars now that we have lost Lane 7 in Campbell River.

The mirror tags are available from the post office counters in Mansons and Whaletown, the FOCI office and Klahoose Multipurpose Building. We’ll also have them at our stall at the Friday markets throughout the summer. They are in limited supply so please take only one per household.

A big thank you to Hollyhock, Cortes Natural Food Co-op and Cortes Kayaks for sponsoring this exciting initiative.

It is hoped the mirror tags will help more people find rides across Quadra while reducing greenhouse gas emissions, ferry overloads and costs for people too.
